MISSION KI x Civic Coding-Forum

AI in use for the common good: When artificial intelligence really helps - use cases for use in organizations for the common good.
How can public-interest organizations identify potential use cases for AI applications and determine when it makes sense to use AI—and when not? We’ll be exploring this question together in our joint forum with Civic Coding.
Marije Weber from MISSION KI will begin by sharing her insights as a consultant for start-ups, offering practical methods for identifying AI use cases. Matthias Hild from the German Caritas Association will provide an inside look at how his organization approaches the identification of AI applications. Independent consultant Julia Gundlach will draw on her experience from the Bertelsmann Stiftung’s reframe[tech] project to share real-world insights.
Together, they will discuss their experiences, explore the challenges of implementing AI in public-interest organizations, and highlight their key learnings.
An open discussion round will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts. The event will conclude with a networking session over snacks and drinks, offering a chance for further exchange and connection.
Speakers
Julia Gundlach advises organizations at the intersection of AI and the common good. From 2020 to 2025, she worked at the Bertelsmann Stiftung on the societal impacts of digital technologies, dedicating her efforts to promoting the use of AI for public welfare purposes.
