From Silos to Assets: FAIR Digital Objects for True Interoperability
Heterogeneous data formats and proprietary interfaces create technical barriers and integration complexity. The EU Data Act tightens requirements and makes data portability a compliance obligation. The challenge: How can existing data assets be made portable and interoperable without complete migration?
The FAIR Data Publisher from MISSION KI implements FAIR Digital Objects (FDOs) as an architectural solution. A service layer encapsulates data, metadata, and machine-readable, self-describing objects with persistent identifiers. This open-source implementation (MIT license, proof-of-concept) establishes clear, standardized interfaces between systems, defining them as FDOs once and making them universally integrable without new point-to-point connections.

What to expect in this webinar:
Functionality and roadmap: Learn how service architecture, resolver, and registry work together to provide data as FDOs according to FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).
Live pipeline demonstration: See in real-time how raw data is transformed into FAIR Digital Objects and published.
Implementation guidance: Discuss practical steps to establish FDOs in your system landscape and fulfill the portability requirements of the EU Data Act.
Target audience: Data users, providers, and stakeholders from government, research, industry, and standardization. Whether you're a research data manager, IT architect, data space operator, product owner, or compliance officer, everyone who wants to understand how FAIR Digital Objects can reduce technical complexity and meet legal requirements like the Data Act is welcome.
